Theres been much debate about the North and South Island. I say they are both beautiful, so see it all!
I personally think that renting a car is a must. New Zealand was the road trip of a lifetime. I am convinced its the only way to see the country properly because the scenery is so breathtaking, and theres very few highways. Everything is so charming and picturesque. If someone has 2 weeks to see both islands of New Zealand, I highly recommend emulating what I did.
